Simple tips from our team to help you walk in confident and walk out working.
Dress for the job you want
You don’t need a suit. Clean, neat, business-casual or work-ready clothes make a strong first impression.
Good choices
Clean jeans without rips, work pants, or khakis.
A plain t-shirt, polo, or button-up shirt.
Closed-toe shoes. Work boots or steel toes are best if you have them.
Hair tied back if it’s long.
A light jacket you can take off, since some sites are warm and some are cold.
Leave these at home
Sandals, flip-flops, heels, or open-toe shoes.
Loose jewelry, scarves, or dangling items that can catch in machines.
Shorts, ripped clothes, or shirts with offensive words or images.
Heavy perfume or cologne.
Sunglasses or headphones worn during the meeting.
Office or front-desk jobs
Business casual: slacks or a skirt with a blouse, polo, or button-up.
Clean, comfortable dress shoes.
Wearing a tie? See our How to Tie a Tie guide.
